Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	READY TO CHARGE (M Yeni) jumped slow, losing two lengths.
b)	RESONATE (JP van der Merwe) jumped slow, losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	After leaving the parade ring correctly shod, THUNDERSTRUCK (P Strydom) cast its left front shoe on the way to the start which had to be replaced, causing a delay.
b)	Approaching the 200m MUFASA (K Matsunyane) was bumped and unbalanced when carried outwards by BEREAVE (C Orffer), which commenced to hang out. Following this incident, MUFASA (K Matsunyane) was carried out on two further occasions before the finish by BEREAVE (C Orffer), which continued to hang outwards. A race review was called by a Stipendiary Steward, which was followed by him lodging an objection on behalf of the 4th placed horse MUFASA (K Matsunyane) against the 3rd placed horse BEREAVE (C Orffer) on the grounds of interference and intimidation from the 200m. The Objection Board, after considering the evidence put forward, reviewing the patrol film and having regard to the margin of 0,05 of a length between the two horses concerned, was of the opinion that but for the interference MUFASA (K Matsunyane) would have finished ahead of BEREAVE (C Orffer) had this incident not occurred and therefore upheld the Objection.  When assessing this incident, the Stewards were satisfied that Jockey C Orffer had attempted to take the necessary corrective measures to straighten his mount and therefore took no further action. 
c)	Trainer SG Tarry was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate THUNDERSTRUCK against Equine Influenza in accordance with the program of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Stable Employee S Hoffman, acting on behalf of Trainer SG Tarry signed an Admission of Guilt and Trainer SG Tarry was fined R1000.00.
d)	THUNDERSTRUCK, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SG Tarry was advised. (WM)
e)	ISIVUNGUVUNGU, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P Muscutt was advised. (WM)
