THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	DAWN CLOUD (J Solomons) jumped slow, losing one length.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	The tongue-tie on ANALYTIC (C Zackey) was re-fitted at the start, causing a delay.
b)	FAIRFIELD (R Danielson) was examined at the start by the course Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn, causing a further delay.
c)	Leaving the 400m DREAM SEARCHER (C Bantam) was momentarily held up for a clear run when close to the heels of FRENCH TRIP (S Veale).
d)	Approaching the 200m HELIOTROPE (G Wright) was severely unbalanced when brushed on the hindquarters by FOUR JACKS (G van Niekerk), which shifted out from the 300m. As a consequence, MISTER LINCOLN (A Arries), which was following, had to be steadied and directed inwards. An Inquiry will be held into this incident.
e)	At the 200m APACHE CHIEF (R Fourie) had to be checked, clipped the heels of FRENCH TRIP (S Veale) and brushed the outside running rail when FRENCH TRIP (S Veale) shifted out. An Inquiry will be opened into this incident.
f)	DREAM SEARCHER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AN Marcus was advised. (WM)
g)	HELIOTROPE, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer M Arnold, acting on behalf of Trainer C Bass-Robinson, was advised. (WM)
