Stipes Report
a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After leaving the parade ring correctly shod, ETOILEFILLANTE (B Fayd'Herbe) cast its left front shoe on the way to the start which had to be replaced, causing a delay. b) Leaving the 200m AMANCIO (G Wright) was steadied briefly and directed outwards away from the heels of KING OF NUMBERS (G van Niekerk). c) At the 50m KING OF NUMBERS (G van Niekerk) had to be checked, shifted in and bumped GO IT ALONE (JP van der Merwe) when on the heels of IN THE BAG (A Domeyer) which, after racing into the lead, shifted out sharply and had to be straightened. d) IN THE BAG, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised. (SC) e) ETOILEFILLANTE, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D McLachlan was advised.
