THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE AS WELL AS DYLAN'S CHAMP (A FORTUNE) BEING SUBJECT TO A LATE VETERINARY EXAMINATION AND SUBSEQUENTLY BEING SCRATCHED. TIME WAS ALLOTTED FOR THE BETTING PUBLIC TO RESTRUCTURE THEIR BETS. THIS CAUSED A FURTHER DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SOVEREIGN CROWN (C Zackey) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) GIFT OF ROYAL (J R Syster) was slow losing one length. c) URQUHART CASTLE (Wes Marwing) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey Wes Marwing reported that he felt something amiss with URQUHART CASTLE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. b) The saddle on BEARTIC (*K J Lihaba) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by the patrol film. c) HAT FURIOUS (R Munger), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer E Verdonese advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) SOVEREIGN CROWN was ridden by Jockey C Zackey (declared 6 March 2025 at 15H41).
