THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	DUMISANI (D Schwarz) and MO FLOW (R Fourie) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Jockey R Munger reported that PLAYER X, which pulled hard in the early stages, hung out badly in the straight which resulted in him being unable to assist this gelding and easing PLAYER X out of the race from the 250m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. When questioned regarding the racing manners of PLAYER X, Trainer Z Oosthuizen told the Stewards that this gelding was having its first run since joining his stables, he was aware of its recent history of hanging and thus had attempted blinkers. However, as was evident on the patrol film, PLAYER X proved very difficult to assist and was hanging out badly. Trainer Z Oosthuizen has undertaken to change the equipment on this gelding, including trying out different bits, in an attempt to prevent this horse from hanging in future races. The Stewards advised Trainer Oosthuizen that they will be monitoring PLAYER X's behaviour in future engagements.
b)	Jockey C Habib reported that FEARLESS BADGER made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
c)	Jockey X Ndlovu reported that THUNDER FORCE took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d)	MO FLOW, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised. (LM)
