Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TROMBETTISTA (C Habib) was restless in the stalls, resulting in DHONI (R Munger) becoming restless in the stalls. Both geldings were removed from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, and passed fit to race. b) THUNDERBIRD (C Maujean) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) THE PLAYBOY BOMBER (D De Gouveia) was slow losing one length. d) AL BAYREG (M van Rensburg) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, GALLADORN (*M K Katjedi) was bumped by MONTE BELLO (K Matsunyane), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) AL BAYREG (M van Rensburg), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer W Masawi, acting on behalf of Trainer M F de Kock, was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) NKANDLA GOLD raced equipped with a compression mask and ear muffs (declared 14 February 2024 at 09H20). b) DHONI raced with a tongue tie on (declared 16 February 2024 at 12H33). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) DHONI spread its left front shoe in running; coughing post race. b) GALLADORN blowing post race. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
