THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	BRIDGERTON (L Mxothwa) was hanging in from the 400m.
b)	Jockey C Habib reported that BOB LEE SWAGGER did not stride out freely in running and he did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
c)	Apprentice KJ Lihaba reported that he felt something amiss with EYJAFJALLAJOKUL. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d)	Jockey D Ashby reported that he felt something amiss with TIMBAVATI RIVER. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	Jockey R Fourie reported that FINAL EDITION took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
f)	Jockey R Fourie appeared before the Board with regard to the poor performance of FINAL EDITION. Jockey R Fourie explained to the Board that it was his intention to race this gelding prominently from the start. However, FINAL EDITION took hold of the bit and raced keenly in the early and middle stages, which resulted in him coming under pressure earlier than expected, at the 400m. Jockey R Fourie further advised the Board that, in his opinion, this gelding was better suited to the polytrack and he advised Trainer AC Greeff to, where possible, race on the polytrack. The Stipendiary Board noted Jockey Fourie's explanation and advised him that FINAL EDITION'S future performances will be monitored.
