THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start NELLIE MELBA (R Fourie) and STING RAY (C Habib) were bumped on the inside of FULL OF MAGIC (S Khumalo) which jumped in leaving the starting stalls. As a result NELLIE MELBA (R Fourie) made contact with SHONA KIRSTY YVES (R A Venniker), and STING RAY (C Habib) was squeezed out, losing position. Thereafter FULL OF MAGIC (S Khumalo) was hanging in throughout. b) Jockey S Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with FULL OF MAGIC in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Jockey C F Dicken reported that PREDATOR'S FEAST changed stride continually in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Apprentice J Botes (TAYOOBA) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. e) NOBLE STORM (*S Hlengwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M L Roberts advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) PALM BREEZE raced fitted with alumite bar shoes in front, alumites behind (advised 15.03.2024/08h13). b) Jockey S Khumalo (FULL OF MAGIC) weighed out at 54.9kg. 0.5kg over the carded weight).
