Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) MUSIC IS LIFE (*B Plaatjies) jumped a shadow cast by the floodlight pole, at the 600m. b) EXCEPT TEMPTATION (C Habib) was hanging in from the 300m. c) At the 200m SHANTA'S PRIDE (C Zackey) was switched in off the heels of LORD WYLIE (S Khumalo), which had come to the end of its run. This resulted in MUSIC IS LIFE (*B Plaatjies) being carried inwards onto the heels of RHYHTHM (C Maujean). Thereafter SHANTA'S PRIDE (C Zackey) commenced to hang in. Jockey C Zackey reported that SHANTA'S PRIDE made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) ENSUING (R A Venniker) and NELSON BAY (R Fourie) jumped a shadow cast by the grandstand shortly after the finish. e) In view of the performance of MUSIC IS LIFE (*B Plaatjies) (5.75 lengths, 7/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon is requested to examine. f) MASTER JOSH (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey C Zackey (SHANTA'S PRIDE) weighed out at 55kgs, 0.5kgs over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
