THE STARTER REPORTED A) DANCING GIRL and KAYC AL were nervous in the stalls. B) OPULENCE, CHOCOLATE RUFFLES and SACRED IBIS were slow away and lost 1 length respectively. C) GOLIGHTLY was nervous in the stalls and reared as the start was effected. D) ALASKAN was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) ALASKAN FATE (*K Strydom) and LEGEND HAS IT (R Fourie) commenced to over-race entering the first turn. B) At approximately 350m, GRANADILLA (C Zackey) was steadied in anticipation of being awkwardly placed between SACRED IBIS (*K A Brewer) and ABSOLUTELY FAB (R Munger) which hung in from the 400m. C) Jockey R Fourie reported that LEGEND HAS IT did not stride out freely in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. D) The winner GOLIGHTLY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM).
