THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TICKET TO VEGAS (R Fourie) and DOUBLE DREAM (S Veale) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey R Fourie reported that TICKET TO VEGAS made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) In view of the performances of FIGURE EIGHT (JP van der Merwe) and KAMAKAZI (A Domeyer), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these fillies. c) TICKET TO VEGAS (R Fourie) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr B Gillespie) d) Trainer PAW Botha was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he failed to have available the registered colours of the owner/s of TRY ME. Trainer PAW Botha signed an Admission of Guilt and was given a warning. e) GREAT CAT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised.
