THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BEYNAC (P Strydom) and TOKYO MEDAGLIA (R Danielson) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BEYNAC, which came under pressure from the 600m, commenced to give ground to the field from the 300m. Thereafter, Jockey P Strydom reported that BEYNAC took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. b) BELIEVE IN FATE (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J A Soma advised (MduP).
