Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	HAVRE DE GRACE (M van Rensburg) was stubborn loading.
b)	SANKOFA (KA Brewer) was stubborn loading and thereafter jumped slow, losing one length.
c)	WHAT NOW MY GAL (S Naidoo) was restless in the stalls.
d)	FOREST FANTASY (D Daniels) jumped slow, losing one length.
e)	SEASIDE TRIP (R Danielson) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	The start of this race was delayed due to the thirty-minute interval between races.
b)	Racing into the turn at the 1200m, HAVRE DE GRACE (M van Rensburg) took an awkward stride and became unbalanced when brushed outwards by SUNDROP (*DB Geerthsen), which raced awkwardly and shifted out away from the inside running rail. Thereafter, Jockey M van Rensburg reported that he felt something amiss with HAVRE DE GRACE and he did not persevere with his riding for the remainder of the race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine HAVRE DE GRACE (M van Rensburg).
c)	Leaving the 500m, SANKOFA went amiss and was immediately eased out of the race by Jockey KA Brewer. This filly was attended to on course by the Veterinary Surgeon. This precluded Jockey KA Brewer from being able to weigh in. In terms of Rule 66.2 the Stewards were satisfied that SANKOFA had carried the correct weight.
d)	ARABIAN RED, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Mtengwana, acting on behalf of Trainer AC Greeff, was advised. (LM)
