a)	ONE FELL SWOOP (C Habib) stumbled leaving the stalls. 
b)	ASIYE PHAMBILI (R A Venniker) stumbled badly leaving the stalls, dislodging Jockey R A Venniker. 
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	SHANTASTIC (C Zackey) was hanging in from the 200m.
b)	At the 200m ELEGANT ICE (J P v'd Merwe) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the inside of WINTER GREETING (S Moodley) which shifted in and CONVOCATION (G Wright). As a result, CONVOCATION (G Wright) and TIME FO ORCHIDS (G Lerena) were carried in. The Board have adjourned to review this incident. 
c)	In the concluding stages ELEGANT ICE (J P v'd Merwe) had to steady when awkwardly placed on the heels of WINTER CLOUD (A Domeyer) which rolled in. 
d)	In view of the performance of WHITE PEARL (P Strydom) (8.40 lengths, 25/2 in the betting). The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
e)	OCTOBER MORN (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson advised (DZ).
