The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRINCE FLORIAN (S Veale) lost 1 length. b) VILA VICOSA (M Thackeray) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) RUN FOR PEACE (*M Mbuto) over-raced in the early stages. b) FIRELIGHTER (N Patel) hung out from the 350m. c) RUN FOR PEACE (*M Mbuto) shifted out away from the crop at the 150m. d) VILA VICOSA (M Thackeray), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee T Ryan acting on behalf of Trainer M J Odendaal was advised (SP). Trainer M J Odendaal was questioned regarding the improved performance of VILA VICOSA as compared to this gelding's previous race at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on the 02 February 2025. Trainer Odendaal could offer no suitable explanation for the improvement shown. His attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to in and out running. JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) THE GREEN GALLANT raced without a tongue tie (advised 06.03.2025/09h18). b) Jockey S Hlengwa was the rider of PORTFIRE (advised 07.03.2025/16h40).
