Stipes Report
The start of this race was delayed due to the left front shoe on RAPID FIRE (M Yeni) having to be replaced by the course farrier at the start. Examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) NELLIE MELBA (C Zackey) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 200m, Apprentice M Mbuto (CHELSEA FLOWER) accidentally dropped his right-side rein which he regained at the finish. b) Jockeys R A Venniker (KAILENE) and C Zackey (NELLIE MELBA) reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Jockeys C Maujean (EMERALD GREEN) and M Yeni (RAPID FIRE) reported that their respective mounts faltered in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Trainer M J Odendaal signed an admission for a contravention of RULE 8.3.1., in that he failed to ensure that the owner's colours were available for the horse RAPID FIRE. Accordingly, a warning was issued. e) ONE SMART COOKIE (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Prinsloo advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Apprentice D Pillay (claiming 4kg) was the rider of SHANTA'S PRIDE. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) RAPID FIRE raced with club colours.
