THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE BATTLE OFTHE BULGE (*M K KATJEDI) PROVING STUBBORN LOADING. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BATTLE OFTHE BULGE (*M K Katjedi) was stubborn loading. Trainer A Azzie was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (GT). b) ROYAL ALBERT (J Greyling), MANZ KNIGHT (G Lerena), BATTLE OFTHE BULGE (*M K Katjedi) and CLEAR THE PATH (*N Nastili) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MICKEY BLUE EYES (D De Gouveia), which raced with an awkward head carriage, took an uneven stride at the 1000m. b) ROYAL ALBERT (J Greyling) commenced to give ground to the field from the 200m. c) Apprentice M K Katjedi, the rider of BATTLE OFTHE BULGE, accidentally dropped his crop at the 450m. d) DOUGLAS DRAGON (J Penny), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
