Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 400m, FLYING GRACE (A Marcus) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the outside of DEEP GLOBAL (*M Zuma) which shifted out. A race review was called into this incident by a member of the Stipendiary Board. After reviewing the patrol footage with Jockey A Marcus, the Board was satisfied that this incident had no bearing on the outcome of the race. Therefore, no further action was taken. b) Apprentice M Zuma signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7, in that as the rider of DEEP GLOBAL, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to FLYING GRACE (A Marcus) at approximately the 400m. Accordingly, a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days was imposed. (Suspension dates : 08.03.22 - 14.03.22, bdi) c) FLYING GRACE (A Marcus) was hanging in from the 300m. d) In view of the performance of TECHNO SAVVY (W Kennedy) (17.20 lengths, 3/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer P Muscutt will be advised to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. e) DEEP GLOBAL (*M H Zuma), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Gareth van Zyl advised (HM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) WINTER ROYALE raced equipped with blinkers and without cheek pieces (advised 07.03.22/6h27). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) TECHNO SAVVY : Nothing obvious detected. b) ROCKY COAST : Post-race distress. SCRATCHINGS : a) SYX HOTFIX : Elevated temperature (Trainer - 07.03.22/5h27).
