THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BIG SPENDER (*DB Geerthsen) was stubborn loading and jumped slow, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BIG SPENDER (*DB Geerthsen) refused to parade during the canter past and had to be led by the groom to the start. Trainer E Kaknis was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future engagements, she may be suspended. b) ELUSIVE HUNTER (*N Nastili) was hanging in from the 300m. c) Jockey K Minnie (MY TRUE LOVE) dropped his rein at the 250m,which he only regained after the finish. d) ICE CAP (M Yeni) was hanging in from the 200m. e) In view of the performance of BIG SPENDER (*DB Geerthsen), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer E Kaknis was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. f) MY TRUE LOVE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
