THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RANI OF JHANSI (*B Plaatjies) lost 3 lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start LUCRATIVE (K de Melo) was brushed out by MAGICAL VIEW (M Thackeray) which jumped outwards. b) At the 600m RANI OF JHANSI (*B Plaatjies) brushed the inside running rail. c) In view of the performances of LUCRATIVE (K de Melo) (6.20 lengths, 33/20 in the betting) and GREY FANTACY (T Godden) (9.10 lengths, 25/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to sign. d) Assistant Trainer W Marwing acting on behalf of Trainer W H Marwing signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate ELECTRA GREEN against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccination as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. e) UBUKHWEBEZANA (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M J Odendaal advised (SP).
