THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ANGELOFTHEMORNING (J R Syster) was slow losing three lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) CAN'T CATCH ME (K Matsunyane) pulled hard in the early stages. b) In the concluding stages, FREE IN SEATTLE (P Strydom) was steadied and directed inwards in anticipation of running onto the heels of ANNEWITHAN E (G Lerena), which hung out from the 300m. c) Jockey P Strydom was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking FREE IN SEATTLE forward of the saddle in the concluding stages. Jockey P Strydom signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. d) Apprentice G Samo-Burthia, the rider of SUMMERLAND, rode a satisfactory qualifying ride. e) TWOSTEP QUEEN (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S J Gray advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON HAD NO REPORTS.
