Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	MUFASA (W Kennedy) and RETALLICK (M Yeni) were restless in the stalls.
b)	KINGS ROAD (C Habib) briefly lost its footing leaving the stalls.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	During the loading process, MUFASA (W Kennedy) became restless and nudged the front gate open. Simultaneously, IRFAANS BOY (R Munger) became fractious resulting in both horses being removed from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and declared fit to race. On resumption of the loading process, RETALLICK became restless and dislodged Jockey M Yeni. RETALLICK (M Yeni) was removed from the stalls, examined by the Course Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded.
b)	Jockey B Nyawo was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking SEEMYVISION more than twelve times in the entire race.  Jockey B Nyawo signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R2,500.00 was imposed. 
	When assessing this penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times the crop was used (17), the manner and distance over which the crop was used and Jockey B Nyawo's recent record with regards to this Rule and Guideline (3).
c)	SEEMYVISION (B Nyawo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. 
	Trainer R R Magner advised (RS).

JOCKEY CHANGES:

None.

RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER:
a)	MUFASA raced equipped with blinkers (declared 10 March 2022 at 06H36).	
b)	MUFASA is a gelding (gelded 21 January 2022). Trainer P A Peter was charged with a contravention of Rule 10.5.6.1 in that he failed to notify the local office of the National Horseracing Authority within two (2) business days that MUFASA had been gelded.  Assistant Trainer A Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer P A Peter, signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1,000.00 was imposed.	

			
THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED:
a)	MUFASA stall injury (mouth) and abnormal respiratory noise post race. 	
b)	KINGS ROAD stall injury (mouth).

SCRATCHED:
a)	COLD FACT off feed (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies).		
b)	TUSCAN WINTER coughing (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies).
