a)	NARINA TROGON (T Godden) was hanging out from the 400m to the 300m. 
b)	Apprentice D Pillay (NAVAJO NATION) appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding his riding from the 600m to the 400m with particular reference to the amount of vigour and determination shown in his riding action. He explained to the Board that he was under instruction from Trainer R Hill to give this gelding a patient ride and to sit as long as possible as NAVAJO NATION has a short finishing burst. He was advised to notify the Stewards when adopting these tactics in races in future.
c)	Jockeys T Godden (NARINA TROGON) and C Maujean (SMORGASBORD) reported that their respective mounts made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
d)	In view of the performance of CAPE EAGLE (S Moodley) (4.25 lengths, 17/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
e)	GLADATORIAN (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S H Ferrie advised (SP).
