THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SAIL THE SKY (D Schwarz) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) WRITTEN IN STONE (L Nhlapo) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, SAIL THE SKY (D Schwarz) jumped awkwardly inwards and made contact with the right-side front gate. Thereafter, this gelding raced wide, without cover around the turn and into the straight. b) Shortly after the start, MIRACULOUS MAN (P Mxoli) was unbalanced and had its hindquarters turned inwards when bumped by BOB LEE SWAGGER (*T Mayhew), which was brushed in by WRITTEN IN STONE (L Nhlapo), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) Jockey S Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with CAPTAIN JIM in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey K A Brewer reported that KITTYBOYS GIRL did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. e) FAST DUTY (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee C Jena, acting on behalf of Trainer S T Pettigrew, was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) KITTYBOYS GIRL was ridden by Jockey K A Brewer (declared 19 September 2024 at 13H12). b) GREEN SCEPTRE: Jockey K Matsunyane weighed out at 52,8kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
