Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ONI SAN (S Veale) and MISS MARGUERITE (JP van der Merwe) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start BOMBER GIRL (RA Venniker) was brushed outwards by THE CHARLESTON (A Andrews) and made contact with the hindquarters of NORDIC QUEST (A Domeyer). As a consequence, BOMBER GIRL (RA Venniker) had to be steadied and lost momentum. b) At the 300m BONNE BOUCHE (C Bantam) was brushed by PORQUE TE VAS (C Zackey), which was initially directed towards the outside of the track and then commenced to hang in and shifted in. c) At the 250m BLUE HOLLY (R Fourie) was held up for a number of strides when awkwardly placed between the heels of LADY LOOK ALIKE (K Matsunyane) and THE CHARLESTON (A Andrews). d) NORDIC QUEST, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised.
