THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) This race was run in heavy rain. The Clerk of Scales reported that Jockeys weighed back in overweight. b) BECKY SHARP (S Veale) jumped inwards, refused to gallop and raced detached from the field throughout. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey JP van der Merwe did not persevere with his riding of JET GREEN from approximately the 600m as his goggles were covered in mud and poor visibility. d) VERONIQUE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GW Ennion was advised.
