Stipes Report
The start of this Race was delayed due to PAPA C (*K Lihaba) having its right front shoe refitted by the farrier at the start. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) NOBLE WARRIOR (K Matsunyane) over-raced in the early and middle stages. b) At the 250m, PONGOLA (R Venniker) was switched to the inside of BOM BOM (C Habib) to continue its run. c) In the concluding stages, INGQWELE (M Yeni) was carried in by GLOBAL MOVEMENT (*D Pillay) which was hanging in from the 250m and rolled in. d) GLOBAL MOVEMENT (*D Pillay) raced wide around the turn. e) Apprentice K Lihaba reported that he felt something amiss with PAPA C in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning PAPA C, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer D C Howells was advised. (Suspension Dates : 30.09.24 - 28.11.24, bdi) g) Jockey N Patel signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2. (Appendix E), in that he mis-used his crop by striking HIAWATHA GOLDBERG forward of the saddle in the concluding stages. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. h) JAZZ FESTIVAL (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Dixon advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) NOBLE WARRIOR raced equipped with blinkers (advised 26.09.24/10h46). b) JAZZ FESTIVAL was ridden by Jockey C Zackey (advised 26.09.24/9h17). c) GLOBAL MOVEMENT was ridden by Apprentice D Pillay (claiming 4kg). Reserve runner (advised 25.09.24/7h52). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) BOM BOM : Nothing obvious detected. b) PAPA C : Bi-lateral epistaxis.
