THE STARTER REPORTED: a) COMMON GROUNDS (C Habib) jumped awkwardly and lost 2 lengths. b) CELTIC BEAUTY (S Veale) was restless in the stalls and lost 1 length. c) MR MASTER STARTER (C Zackey) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride. d) CAPTAIN BOMBSHELL (S Hlengwa) was restless in the stalls and was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Leaving the starting stalls CAPTAIN BOMBSHELL (S Hlengwa) jumped awkwardly which resulted in Jockey S Hlengwa losing his right-side stirrup iron and becoming momentarily unbalanced. b) Approaching the 300m FORMAGEAR (A Mgudlwa) was brushed out marginally by AFRICAN BEAT (*J Botes) which rolled out. c) In view of the performance of PRAY FOR RAIN (S Moodley) (8.05 lengths, 4/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey K Matsunyane reported that KUPHOLIWE changed stride continually in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) FORMAGEAR (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P B Muscutt advised (DZ).
