a)	BIG BOY BRUCE (J Greyling) was stubborn loading and thereafter broke the front gate open and was immediately restrained, causing a delay.
b)	UNDER THE RAINBOW (JR Syster), BOMPAS (D Schwarz), LLOYD WRIGHT (MK Katjedi) and PENNSYLVANIA (G Lerena) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	ANTONIO GAUDI (K Matsunyane) and RAWALPINDI (*T Mayhew) were hanging out from the 400m. 
b)	OLD FASHIONED (P Mxoli) raced green.
c)	Jockey JR Syster (UNDER THE RAINBOW) dropped his crop at the 400m.
d)	Jockeys L Nhlapo and K Matsunyane and Apprentice T Mayhew reported that they felt something amiss with SUMMER SHADE, ANTONIO GAUDI and RAWALPINDI respectively. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings.
e)	SUMMER SHADE (L Nhlapo) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary 	haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The 	National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr M Bawden)
f)	PENNSYLVANIA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. (MdP)
