THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ZIP CODE (M Yeni) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) FAR REACHING (C Habib) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, WILD INTENT (M van Rensburg) and SKITTLES SKIES (P Mxoli) were squeezed out between FAR REACHING (C Habib), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls, and ZIP CODE (M Yeni) which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. As a consequence, SKITTLES SKIES (P Mxoli) clipped the heels of ZIP CODE (M Yeni) and lost momentum. b) SKITTLES SKIES (P Mxoli), which commenced to over-race proved difficult negotiating the early part of the turn. c) Jockey M van Rensburg, the rider of WILD INTENT, accidentally dropped his crop at the 350m. d) Jockey C Habib reported that he felt something amiss with FAR REACHING in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) CHESTNUT BOMBER (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
