THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WORLDY (D Schwarz) jumped slow, losing one length. b) SHIFTING PATH (A Domeyer) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Prior to the running of this race, Trainer PD Reeves advised the Stewards that he had instructed Jockey G van Niekerk to ride HEAR MY VOICE conservatively as, in his opinion, this would benefit this mare as she has a short finishing burst. This information was disseminated by the on-course presenter. b) Jockey G van Niekerk reported that HEAR MY VOICE felt uncomfortable in its action and failed to respond when asked for a finishing effort. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. c) BLUFF ON BLUFF, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer ELP Steyn was advised.
