Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	CIRCUS LIGHTS (R Danielson) refused to jump. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Stable Employee H Chauque, acting on behalf of Trainer G J Maroun, was advised (GT). 

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	At approximately the 500m, SMASHING (P Strydom), which over-raced, was steadied to avoid running onto the heels of NEERAH (*G Samo-Burthia). Thereafter, approaching the 150m, SMASHING (P Strydom), which took an awkward stride, was steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of JET CAT (J R Syster) and on the outside of NEERAH (*G Samo-Burthia), which was directed outwards away from the heels of JUST VAR (*T Mayhew).  Thereafter, Jockey P Strydom reported that he felt something amiss with SMASHING in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. 	
b)	Jockey C Maujean reported that DELPHI DANCER did not stride out freely in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. 	
c)	In view of the Starter's report with regard to CIRCUS LIGHTS, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion on a race day. 
Suspension dates: 13 November 2024 to 19 November 2024.  CIRCUS LIGHTS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Stable Employee H Chauque, acting on behalf of Trainer G J Maroun, was advised.  	
d)	Apprentice G Samo-Burthia, the rider of NEERAH, rode a satisfactory qualifying ride.
e)	JUST VAR (*T Mayhew), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
