THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GREAT NOTION (K Matsunyane) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) HEAD TO THE STARS (*T Mayhew) jumped awkwardly outwards leaving the stalls. c) AFTERSHOCK (Wes Marwing) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, MOCHA MACAROON (N Klink) was bumped inwards by GREAT NOTION (K Matsunyane), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) At approximately the 1200m, LAPIS LAZULI (J P van der Merwe) was carried out by GREAT NOTION (K Matsunyane), which was directed outwards away from the heels of HEAD TO THE STARS (*T Mayhew). As a consequence, LAPIS LAZULI (J P van der Merwe) raced wide, without cover around the turn and into the straight. c) Trainer W H Marwing was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate AFTERSHOCK against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Assistant Trainer W Marwing, acting on behalf of Trainer W H Marwing, signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. d) MOCHA MACAROON (N Klink), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
