THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KARANGETANG (*T Mayhew) stumbled leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, ROLLWITHTHEPUNCHES (D De Gouveia) was steadied when carried in onto the heels of VIRGINIA BEACH (C Habib) by AUSSENKEHR (R Danielson), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) In the concluding stages, VIRGINIA BEACH (C Habib) was steadied to avoid the heels of YAMADORI (C Zackey), which hung in from the 200m. c) In view of the performance of VIRGINIA BEACH (C Habib), (distance 7,25 lengths, betting 7/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey M K Katjedi was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E read with Guideline 3 on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking HALBERDIER forward of the saddle in the concluding stages. Jockey M K Katjedi signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. d) HALBERDIER (M K Katjedi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B B Ruiters advised (MduP). e) COSMIC STAR (G Lerena), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee M Boya was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) VIRGINIA BEACH: Jockey C Habib weighed out at 54,8kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
