Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	THE ABDICATOR (IRE) (K Matsunyane) jumped awkwardly inwards leaving the stalls and made contact with OUTLAW KING (G van Niekerk) which, as a consequence, had to be steadied away from the heels of SILVER FALCON (A Andrews).
b)	MEU CAPITANO (R Fourie) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Shortly after the start, BEREAVE (C Orffer) was carried inwards when awkwardly placed on the inside of the heels of ZIYASHA (R Danielson), which shifted in. Jockey R Danielson appeared before the Board and was advised that the Stewards expected him to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
b)	At the 450m TEFLON MAN (C Bantam) was steadied briefly when close to the heels of ZIYASHA (R Danielson).
c)	Approaching the 200m FUTURE VARIETY (A Domeyer) rolled in away from OUTLAW KING (G van Niekerk) and brushed BEREAVE (C Orffer). 
d)	At the 150m MEU CAPITANO (R Fourie) rolled out when awkwardly placed on the outside of the heels of ZIYASHA (R Danielson) and brushed the hindquarter of QUESTIONING (JP van der Merwe). 
Jockey R Fourie (MEU CAPITANO) called for a race review regarding this incident and after viewing the video footage, took no further action. 
e)	ZIYASHA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer C Binda was advised. (TJ)
f)	MEU CAPITANO, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer ELP Steyn was advised. (TJ)
