THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE. THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DOUGLAS DRAGON (J Penny) hung in from the 350m. b) At approximately the 350m ARLINGTON ACTION (P Mxoli), which shifted out away from the crop and DOUGLAS DRAGON (J Penny), which commenced to hang in, came together and bumped. c) In view of the performance of VESUVIO (N Klink), (distance 20,25 lengths, betting 10/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey M van Rensburg reported that SUPREME DANCE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) BIRTHRIGHT (*N Nastili), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A G Laird advised (MS).
