THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KEY WORKER (G Lerena), TEO TORRIATTE (K Matsunyane), RUBY REBEL (*T Mayhew), and SILKY JET (Wes Marwing) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) FLAMBOYANT FLYER (K A Brewer), FREE IN SEATTLE (R Danielson), CARTAGENA (J R Syster) and EYE CATCHING (J Gates) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 1400m, EYE CATCHING (J Gates), which after a tardy start, was encouraged forward, commenced to over-race and was steadied to avoid running onto the heels of SILKY JET (Wes Marwing). b) Jockey Wes Marwing reported that SILKY JET made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) FLAMBOYANT FLYER (K A Brewer), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Mayhew advised (MduP).
