The start of this race was delayed due to the 30 minute interval between Races 1 and 2. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SERPENTINE FIRE (N Patel), MIND HOW YOU GO (M Yeni), VILA VICOSA (*D Pillay) GLOBAL DRUMBEAT (C Zackey) and RUN FOREST RUN (S Moodley) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) In view of the performance of ZENA ROSE (K Matsunyane) (6.60 lengths, 28/10 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) Jockey C F Dicken signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, (Guideline G), in that whilst riding JAILHOUSE CAT, he used his crop when this gelding was out of contention. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. c) WHO BLINKED (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M J Odendaal was advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey C Zackey was the rider of GLOBAL DRUMBEAT (advised 08.01.2025/15h33).
