Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	FLASH LIGHTNING (MK Katjedi) was stubborn loading.
b)	CORAL CREEK (R Fourie) and KING'S SAILOR (C Little) were nervous in the stalls.
c) 	LAZY GUY (D Schwarz) was nervous in the stalls and slow into stride.
d)	GUNSMOKE (C Maujean), LAZY GUY (D Schwarz), AXEL COLLINS (E Webber) and NOBLE WARRIOR (S Naidoo) were slow into stride.
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	As the start was effected, WINNING CAPTAIN (K Steyn) in stall gate 11 had backed out of the starting stalls. As a result, the Starter called a false start. All runners were restrained and were returned to the stalls, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded, causing a delay.
b)	Jockey C Zackey reported that NIKES RAY OF LIGHT did not stride out freely in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
	Assistant Trainer DG Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables.
c)	Jockeys C Maujean and D Schwarz reported that they felt something amiss with GUNSMOKE and LAZY GUY respectively. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings.
d)	GUARDING THE WALL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised. (LM)
e)	NOBLE WARRIOR, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L Gila was advised. (LM)
