THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HUEHUETENANGO (M Yeni) was slow losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SNOW MOON (R Fourie) over-raced in the early and middle stages. b) SPIRITO SELVAGGIO (P Mxoli) took an awkward stride at the 1200m. c) APACHE CHIEF (G Lerena) hung in from the 500m. d) In view of the performance of LORD OF THE NORTH (R A Venniker), (distance 12,60 lengths, betting 100/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) In view of the performance of SOVEREIGN CROWN (D Schwarz), (distance 14,40 lengths, betting 33/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) Jockey K Matsunyane, the rider of PEAK PREDATOR, accidentally dropped his crop at the 200m. g) SPY STORY (J Gates), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
