THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	HAARLEM (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length.
b)	LORD QUINN (M Yeni) was slow into stride.	
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	ALWAYS SHINING (C Little) proved to be slightly difficult when saddled and the Stewards advised Trainer L 	Gila to saddle this gelding in a closed box provided in the saddle enclosure, accompanied by a Stipendiary 	Steward, in future engagements.
b)	LORD QUINN (M Yeni) jumped outwards and made contact with ALWAYS SHINING (C Little), which jumped 	inwards slightly shortly after the start.
c)	MASTER INCOLOR (MK Katjedi) and CHEERFUL CHARLIE B (L Mxothwa) over raced in the early stages.
d)	ASINANTANGA (C Zackey) over raced in the early and middle stages and was hanging in from the 250m. 
e)	MASTER INCOLOR (MK Katjedi) was hanging in from the 400m and took an awkward stride at the 350m.
f)	Jockey C Little felt something amiss with ALWAYS SHINING and did not persevere with his riding from the 250m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
	Trainer L Gila was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables.
g)	HAARLEM, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM)
