THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) DUBAWI PRINCESS (K de Melo) lost 1 length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) PURPLE MOON'S UP (R Khathi) proved reluctant to canter to the start. Trainer Gareth van Zyl will be advised that should this filly behave similarly in future it may be suspended.
b) At approximately the 150m, IRISH BELLE (S Khumalo) was carried in by LADY MACBETH (A Mgudlwa) which rolled inwards.
c) An Inquiry will be opened in order to establish why CAPTAIN ARIANO (M Yeni) had to ease at the 150m.
d) Jockey A Marcus reported that TRAVELLING LIGHT did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
e) In view of the performance of PURPLE MOON'S UP (R Khathi) (16.90 lengths, 40/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
f) PURPLE NKANYEZI (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G B Puller advised (NS).
