a)	THE OCTAGON (P Mxoli) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls.
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	EMPIRE BLUE and TRUSTFALL commenced to over-race in the middle stages. The Stewards determined that this was due to the slower tempo at this stage of the event.
b)	THE OCTAGON commenced to hang in shortly after straightening and proved difficult to assist. The gelding gave ground as a result. Due to this, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine the gelding.
c)	TRUSTFALL (D Daniels), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
