THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BACKINTHEFASTLANE (*S Bungane) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride b) SPIRIT OF LEVANA (*B Soodoo) jumped awkwardly. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (16h00) b) After being slow to begin, BACKINTHEFASTLANE (*S Bungane) was ridden forward and brushed the inside running rail at the 1500m when awkwardly placed on the inside of NOON DAY GUN (*B Marx- Jacobson). c) At the 100m SET TO MUSIC (*V Jodhee) rolled outwards and made slight contact with BATON ROUGE (*G Samo-Burthia). d) In view of the performance of FORT RED (*G Dookhit), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) SPIRIT OF LEVANA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
