RIO DE LA PLATA had to be removed from the stalls to be checked by the Veterinary Surgeon after getting his hind leg caught up on the railing inside the stalls. Declared fit to race and re-loaded. WARFARER was slow into stride. OMAHA TRIBE and SPEED OF AFRICA both lost 1 length. SPEED OF AFRICA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. In view of the Starter's Report concerning, RIO DE LA PLATA the starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn until recertified tractable with a companion. NOTACADEMICATALL stumbled leaving the stalls. TECHNO CAPTAIN, hanging out in the early stages and on the first bend, shifted out sharply near the 2000 metre mark and raced wide for a short distance thereafter. In view of the performances of WARFARER and OMAHA TRIBE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. NOTACADEMICATALL ducked out sharply for no apparent reason approaching the 2000 metre mark dislodging Apprentice Arries. Apprentice Arries, the rider of NOTACADEMICATALL, was excused from weighing in. In view of the report concerning NOTACADEMICATALL, this gelding has been suspended indefinitely from racing over a distance further than 2000 metres at Scottsville Racecourse until he is able to gallop past this area of the racetrack to the satisfaction of the Stewards. SPEED OF AFRICA was steadied off the heels of TECHNO CAPTAIN for a number of strides at approximately the 2000 metre mark. Vet: WARFARER - nothing obvious detected. OMAHA TRIBE - not striding out right hind. Scratched: EXPRESSO MARTINI - strained left hind muscle.
