THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TAC IT TWICE (C Habib) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) MAMBO LYRIC (M V'Rensburg) over-raced in the early stages. Thereafter, Jockey M V'Rensburg dropped his crop at the 400m. b) SATARA (S Moodley) over-raced in the early and middle stages. c) An Inquiry will be opened in order to establish why MAMBO LYRIC (M V'Rensburg) had to ease at the 1100m. d) At the 400m, MISS CHARLOTTE (*J Jacobs) shifted in to continue its run. Thereafter, MISS CHARLOTTE (*J Jacobs) had to shift out sharply when awkwardly placed on the heels of SATARA (S Moodley) which had come to the end of its run and faded in the straight. e) Apprentice K Strydom reported that WHAT A SARAH (6.40 lengths) did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Apprentice J Jacobs signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse MISS CHARLOTTE more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Apprentice J Jacobs the Board considered the number of times (13) Apprentice J Jacobs struck the horse MISS CHARLOTTE, the distance over which and manner in which, Apprentice J Jacobs used his crop and his record (4) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days was imposed. (Suspension Dates (28.11.20 to the 04.12.20, bdi) g) Trainer D Howells was questioned regarding the improved performance of GINGERSPATHTOGLORY (*T Gumede) compared to this filly's previous performance on the 01 November 2020. In this regard, Mr Howells could offer no explanation other than to state that this filly's last run was the first for the stable and was against significantly stronger than it faced today in only its second run for the stable. The Board noted the explanation of Trainer D Howells and will monitor the performances of this filly going forward. h) GINGERSPATHTOGLORY (*T Gumede), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D C Howells advised (ML). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) GLAD I AM raced with alumites in front, unshod behind (advised 13.11.20/08h45). Jockey C Storey weighed out at 54.2kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight of 53.5kg. b) CRIMSON CASTLE raced without blinkers (advised 23.11.20/07h54). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
