The start of the Race was slightly delayed due to the previous race delay. PETER PIPER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Approaching the 300 metre mark CAPTAIN COBALT switched in sharply resulting in FROZEN TUNE becoming severely checked, losing position and DI ME being carried inwards. Jockey Ramzan failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to the horses on his inside at the 300 metre mark. He was suspended for a period of 10 days. Approaching the 100 metre mark WENDYLLE hanging out, shifted out resulting in ROY'S TAXI becoming cramped for a number of strides along the outside running rail. Apprentice Gates failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to the horse ROY'S TAXI at approximately the 100 metre mark. He was suspended for a period of 7 days. MIGHTY MERCURY raced wide in the early stages. In view of the performances of FROZEN TUNE, NOBLE DUKE and DI ME the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses. THEY SAY returned post-race having cast the left fore shoe. MIGHTY MERCURY raced with a Cornell collar. Vet: FROZEN TUNE, NOBLE DUKE and DI ME - nothing obvious detected. ROCKY COAST - speedy cut left fore.
