THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ATTORNEY GENERAL (G Wright) lost one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) GAVEL STRIKE (W Kennedy) over-raced in the early stages. b) ATTORNEY GENERAL (M Yeni) over-raced in the early and middle stages. c) LOVE THE VIEW (*R Venniker) was hanging out from the 400m. d) Jockey G Wright signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse ATTORNEY GENERAL more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey G Wright struck the horse ATTORNEY GENERAL, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R750 was imposed. e) LUCKY DANCER (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
