THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WOODLAND RETREAT (S Moodley) was restless in the stalls. b) ANTIGUA NIGHT (G Lerena) lost one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) MAHARANEE (W Kennedy) over-raced in the early and middle stages, proving difficult to assist. b) ROY'S T'S (M Mjokwa) over-raced in the early and middle stages. c) At the 300m, RIDE ON (P Strydom) was switched to the outside of MAHARANEE (W Kennedy), which shifted out in the early part of the straight, to obtain a clear run. d) In view of the performances of MAHARANEE (W Kennedy) (4.50 lengths, betting 33/20) and SWEET PEPPER (C Habib) (3.80 lengths, betting 33/20) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) AMEENA (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
