Stipes Report
En route to the start THE MASK (C Little) cast the left front shoe which was attended to by the farrier at the start. This gelding was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race. Thereafter, during the loading process TRAFALGAR SQUARE (S Moodley) was restless in the starting stalls. This gelding was released from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race. These incidents caused a significant delay to the start of this race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TRAFALGAR SQUARE (S Moodley) kicked the back gates, was released from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) RHYTHM (A Mgudlwa) raced wide around the turn. b) In the concluding stages THE MASK (C Little) was steadied in anticipation of the available run closing between CHARA SANDS (*M Mbuto) and IN THE BAG (M Thackeray). c) Apprentice J Botes reported that ONE TOO MANY took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) CATAVAR (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M D Miller was advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) CATAVAR raced fitted with an alumite bar shoe on the left front (advised 02.08.2025/08h25). b) IBHELE raced without blinkers (advised 30.07.2025/08h00). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) ONE TOO MANY : Coughing. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS : DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) None.
